Din første danskprøve
A free, privacy-first practice app for the official Danish A1 and A2 exams. No accounts, no backend, no data leaves the device. Built so municipalities and language schools can link straight to it.

Why it exists
Every year around 1,000 to 2,000 people in Denmark sit the Danskprøve at A1 or A2 level. The exam format is specific, with listening comprehension, short texts, yes-or-no picture matching, and story questions, but there was no free tool that let people practise in that exact format. This app fills that gap.
What it covers
150 questions split across five sub-tests that mirror the real exam: Præsentation, Korte tekster, Ja eller Nej, Historien, and A2 Tekster. Every quiz can be taken in listening mode, where the question is spoken aloud and the text is hidden, or in reading mode. A short-run option lets you take 10 questions instead of 30 for quick practice.
Audio
Thirty questions have recorded audio clips, loudness-normalised to −16 LUFS so the volume stays consistent. The rest fall back to the browser's SpeechSynthesis API with Danish voice detection. If no Danish voice is available, the app switches to reading mode automatically rather than playing silence.
Reference material
An integrated word list covers 262 common Danish words in twelve categories, each with an English translation and, where it helps, a visual mnemonic. A separate question-word guide explains Hvad, Hvor, Hvilke, Hvordan, Hvornår and Hvorfor with example sentences.
Privacy by design
The entire app is a static export: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript served from a CDN. There are no user accounts, no backend, and no network requests after the page loads. Progress is saved to localStorage on the device and never transmitted. That means no GDPR review is needed, which makes it straightforward for a municipality or language school to link to.
